You've Got A Friend

A guy with his guitar playing a song for you, is always nice; and most definitely flattering. I'm sure this is how he ended up with a ring on his finger.

Love this song. Love the way he plays the guitar. Love his voice. I don't know his name though, but he does it so effortlessly. However, the lyrics is a bit different from the original version.

Try listening to it when you are experiencing solitude. Listening to this song makes me wonder/think/ponder...a couple of names came into my mind. Just remember you've got a friend. 'winter, spring, summer or fall; all you got to do is call...and i'll be there, yes i will...'

Hugs anyone? *hugs*

You've Got A Friend
(by: Carole King
as performed by: James Taylor)

When you're down and troubled
and you need a helping hand
and nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
and soon I will be there
to brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,
and you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yeah baby
to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
all you have to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend.

If the sky above you
should turn dark and full of clouds
and that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
and soon I will be knocking upon your door.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
all you got to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don't you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.

You've got a friend.

Back For The Weekend

Okay, so I finally went back to Taiping and met Jane who just got back from US. And she gave me a HUGE hug. She would still be 'hanging water' right now if I didn't meet up with her when I'm in Taiping. So together with a bunch of friends, I went to Starbucks. I had a cup of Java Chip Frappuccino (Blended Coffee); recommended by Jane since she's a very experience staff for Starbucks. I've also learned what's the difference between latte, frappucino and espresso...it's interesting.

So, what happens when there is a bunch of girls high on caffeine? Well, we just talked a whole lot of stories and whatnot which contain lots of nonsensical-dramatic-hyperbolic elements that made us all laughed. And mind you, when Jane starts laughing...faces of the unknown started to turn towards our table; which was smacked right in the middle of Starbucks. Even my handbag got stained when some Frappucino of mine spurt out from my mouth from the result of laughing too much.

I asked Jane if she have american dollars with her, as I would like to have a look how exactly an american dollar look like. And when asked if I could keep that one dollar, Jane was kind enough to give it to me. Thanks again Jane. Then before midnight, we went round Taiping in Jenn's car and half way we decided to head for Khai Li's house. After hanging out at Khai Li's place, Jenn sent all of us back home before 2am.

So yeah, eventhough I was in Taiping for only 32 hours, I had great fun meeting up with Jane. It's been a year since she left for the States, so it was really great to see her after so long. And I'm so glad that Jane is still the Jane that I knew. I had loads of fun, and wished I didn't have to come back to KL so soon; and I kind of harbour too much to my friends of not wanting to go back to KL. I wanted to play badminton and go drunk with u guys! Hey peeps, make sure I'm around the next time u guys want to go drunk okay? Count me in!

p/s: Jane, I didn't get a chance to have a photo with you...and yeah Jane, the tree at the lake garden became a round about. But well, at least they didn't chop the tree off and planted a traffic light there.

The Clumsy & Ungainly Me

Got down from the cab.
Walked,walked,walked...
*stairs*
Climbed the stairs...
Tripped and almost fell.

The Crowne Plaza.
Damn the escalators are not working.
Walked,walked,walked...stepped onto the dysfunctional escalator and started treating it like a flight of stairs.
*escalator starts functioning* These escalators have integrated sensors.
Almost fell.

Times Square.
Stepped onto a fully-functioned escalator.
*escalator moving down*
*escalator suddenly stopped functioning*
Almost fell.

KLCC.
Walked,walked,walked...
*stairs*
Climbed the stairs...
Tripped and almost fell.

*****
Great. How clumsy and ungainly of me. Mind you, all these happened on the same day; within 8 hours.

Sungei Wang Plaza

Barely two weeks in KL and here I am, feeling ill; a bit feverish and a sore throat. Not to mention, my feet are seriously sore right now. Today I had been walking around Bukit Bintang together with 7 other friends. We took LRT and then monorail just to get to Bukit Bintang.

Once we reached Sg.Wang Plaza, we immediately headed for Kim Gary Restaurant as we were all starving. We had to wait to be seated as the place is extremely packed. Fortunately, we did not have to wait very long. Here are some photos taken at Kim Gary.

The menu

Appetizer

Borsch Soup

Cheese Baked Rice With Steak

Aftermath

This is my first time at Sg.Wang, and it was packed with people! To be more precise, it was packed with 'lala' and 'ah beng' people with extremely weird hairstyles. The clothes they were wearing are really eccentric. Ocasionally, I looked at Pui Han and Pui Han looked at me; every time we passed by someone with super duper weird hairdos. These people can be ubiquitously found at Sg.Wang; reason is because 90% of the shops here are meant for 'lalas' and 'ah bengs' and I was feeling rather uncomfortable. After walking around, I have come to a conclusion that if I were to attend a Halloween Party in the future; Sg.Wang would be the place for me to shop for extremely scary costumes. I mean seriously, there are plenty of shops at Sg.Wang that sell horrendous clothing and they are all scary enough for Halloween. I would highly recommend Sg.Wang for anyone who wishes to find a Halloween costume.

After that, 5 of us crossed over to Low Yat as Daniel wanted to get a new printer. Again, it was packed like sardines in a can OVERFLOWING! I don't know about you guys, but I seriously couldn't stand shopping in places that are extremely crowded. I feel very uncomfortable. I do not like to be squeezed when I'm walking. If the place is pack with people, be sure there is enough space for people to walk so that it doesn't look so saturated; then I'm totally okay with it.

Feeling kind of sad right now. Disappointed to be exact. My parents were supposed to be here in KL but they could not make it because the car broke down half way at Ipoh.
